In Fine Feather

In collaboration with Electric Earth Concerts and the Harris Center for Conservation Education, Jazimina MacNeil and Noah MacNeil have created In Fine Feather, a musical and poetic journey through the Hiroshi Loop Trail in Peterborough. With a playlist of music inspired by birdsong and an artful map as your guide, we invite you to heighten your senses, open your heart, and walk in the woods in a new way. Here’s how it works:

  1. Download the music. Download the In Fine Feather playlist here. If you’re using the Google Drive app to download the file, there is a dropdown menu in the upper right corner with the option to make the file “available offline.” We recommend that you select this option to ensure you don’t have any connectivity issues while on the trail.

  2. Get your sound system ready. Grab a small portable speaker so the music can mingle with the sounds of the forest. If you prefer headphones, we suggest earbuds that allow some sound from the outside world to filter in.

  3. Take a hike. Make your way to the Hiroshi Loop Trail. At the trailhead, pick up a map with poetry translations and other information about the music and the birdsong you will be hearing. Start hiking, press play, and enjoy!
